2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Chelle Names 23-Man Super Eagles Squad For Rwanda, Zimbabwe Clashes

Super Eagles head coach, Éric Sékou Chelle, has unveiled his final 23-man squad for Nigeria’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe. Among the players named are key figures such as goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali and Kayode Bankole, defenders William Ekong, Calvin Bassey, and Olaoluwa Aina, as well as midfielders Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi. In the attack, Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen, and Simon Moses have also made the list. Also in the final list are defenders Bruno Onyemaechi and Bright Osayi-Samuel, midfielders Raphael Onyedika and Alhassan Yusuf Abdullahi, and forwards Samuel Chukwueze and Sadiq Umar. Czech Republic-based defender Igoh Ogbu earns a call-up, alongside home-based midfielder Papa Daniel Mustapha. Belgium-based forward Tolu Arokodare is also included. The Super Eagles will first take on group C leaders Rwanda in Kigali on Friday, 21st March, before facing Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on 25th March. These matches are crucial as Nigeria looks to secure an early advantage in the World Cup qualifying campaign.
