Ronaldo Scores Stunning Bicycle Kick as Al Nassr Cruise Past Al Khaleej

Cristiano Ronaldo delivered another moment of theatre on Sunday night in Riyadh, scoring a remarkable bicycle kick as Al Nassr powered to a 4-1 victory over Al Khaleej to extend their perfect start to the Saudi Pro League season. The league leaders, who arrived at Al Awwal Park with eight wins from eight, maintained their momentum with a dominant display that saw Joao Felix, Wesley and Sadio Mane all play decisive roles before Ronaldo applied the final flourish deep into stoppage time. Al Nassr started the match with intent. Ronaldo came close to opening the scoring within the first five minutes after latching onto a precise pass from Felix, dragging his long-range attempt just wide. Moments later, he forced a fine save from goalkeeper Anthony Moris after meeting a delivery from Sadio Mane in the six yard box. Felix looked to have broken the deadlock in the thirty third minute, but the goal was overturned by VAR for a handball in the buildup. The pressure eventually told when Angelo floated an accurate cross toward Felix, who guided the ball home to give Al Nassr a deserved lead. Wesley made it 2-0 minutes later, finishing emphatically after Felix’s pressing forced a turnover inside Al Khaleej’s area. The visitors responded immediately after the restart. Murad Al Hawsawi found the top corner with a driven strike to halve the deficit and briefly unsettle the home crowd. Al Nassr steadied themselves and restored their two goal cushion when Mane produced a measured lobbed finish past Moris. Al Khaleej’s task worsened when Dimitrios Kourbelis received a straight red card for a reckless stamp on Ali Al Hassan, leaving his side a man short in the closing stages. The night reached its highlight when Ronaldo, at forty years of age, soared into the air during stoppage time to meet Nawaf Boushal’s cross with a bicycle kick that drew gasps around the stadium. It was the Portugal captain’s nine hundred and fifty fourth career goal and added to a growing list of overhead finishes, recalling his famous strikes against Juventus in 2018 and Poland in 2024. The win moved Al Nassr four points clear at the top of the table with nine victories from nine and thirty goals scored so far in the campaign. Despite his age and a run without silverware since moving to Saudi Arabia in 2023, Ronaldo’s influence remains central as the Faris Najd continue their pursuit of the title.
